Go to Gorgeous Gozo

Everyone, in my opinion, needs to go to gorgeous Gozo!

The more time we spent on this little island the more we all fell in love with it. It has a charm that comes with no one ever needing to be anywhere in a hurry.

In the morning of our third day we drove into Victoria which is the biggest town in Gozo, even then you can walk from one end of it to the other in under 20 minutes.

We took a stroll through the landscaped gardens and browsed the shops (and managed to locate Lydie some gluten free bread which made her VERY happy.)

In the afternoon we went to Marselforn, a small harbour town, went for a dip in the sea and had an ice cream and it was lovely.

Rachel Tries Life ¦ Gorgeous Gozo When we got back to the villa I announced that I was going to climb the huge hill again before dinner in time for sunset and James agreed to come along as well. I’m SO glad we did. Gozo, every night without fail had a beautiful sunset. When it got just past 6pm the sky began changing into an array of blues, pinks and yellows.

J understood why I’d enjoyed my previous climb so much.

The photos can never really do a sky like this justice but as a shutter bug I do like to try. J even thought it photo worthy.

Sunday was my birthday. So the decision of what we did for the day was in my hands and my preference was clear and concise – I want to go to the beach and I want to go out for dinner.

So we took the crazy steep winding round down to Ramla beach, hired ourselves some deck chairs and set up camp.

Lets be honest, there are far worse ways to spend a birthday!

My holiday reading of choice was lent to me by my buddy Shiv (thank you!)

Mini book review:

The Eyre Affair is incredibly clever. Its a time travelling and realm crossing adventure where the lines between fiction and reality become blurred. With a kick ass female protagonist and a devastatingly evil bad guy intent on ruining the classic Jane Eyre by kidnapping its leading lady.

I’m not crazy, yes I took my camera in the sea. I have recently invested in a waterproof camera and I must say its one of my favourite things EVER!

After we’d had our fill of sand and sea for the day we headed back, got dolled up and headed out for my birthday dinner. We drove to Xlendi Bay which is absolutely stunning.

Rachel Tries Life ¦ Gorgeous Gozo  All of the restaurants serve amazing seafood and with a view like this one you can’t really go wrong! I was particularly a fan of paying 8 euros for a bottle of very nice wine!Rachel Tries Life ¦ Gorgeous Gozo

I had a absolutely fab birthday, beautiful sunshine and great company. What more can you ask for?
