Yesterday I turned 24. Usually on birthdays my friends and I get our glad rags on and hit the town to bust some funky moves for the evening.
This year however I opted for a low key birthday and it was awesome.
Firstly, some great family time. My parents, one of my sisters and me went to my favourite pub to lunch. The Three Tuns in Lower Halstow is the perfect Kent Pub.
Their menu is full of traditional pub classics as well as a few wild cards. Their chefs really know their stuff and I’ve never had a bad dish.
I went for something simple as I knew I’d be having take away in the evening so I went for a thick cut cheese, tomato and red onion sandwich and shared a bowl of chips with my sis.
My Dad went for something a little more impressive, the traditional Kentish Pub Board.
My sister also made me an incredibly tasty raspberry and almond cake.
After lunch I hopped on a train back up to London meet some mates for a relaxing night in.
Well.. maybe not too relaxing. They’re a little crazy but I love em.
After we’d all had a couple of drinks we decided to limber up and play a round of the cereal box game. For any of you who have no idea how this brilliant party game is played all you need an empty cereal box. The aim of the game is to pick the cereal box up off the floor without using your hands. When everyone has managed this, you simply cut off a section on the top so the box is shorter and therefore harder to pick up. I recommend stretching first, its rather taxing on the thigh and groin region if you’re not careful! Also, a warning for the following photos… this game results in some rather compromising positions.
My particular technique required just sticking my bum in the air, I’m a classy bird.
Christine turned out to be the bendiest among us, she was declared the cereal box champion.
